Design Transforms is a lecture series from the Product, Ceramic and Industrial Design programme at Central Saint Martins, where expert practitioners are invited to share their thoughts on the idea of transformation examined through the lens of their work.

Eleanor Drage is a Senior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor at the University of Cambridge, leading a €1.9 million AI ethics initiative. She created the world’s first free EU AI Act compliance tool and works globally to promote responsible AI reporting and cross-cultural ethics.

A member of 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics and co-host of the award-winning Good Robot podcast (now a Bloomsbury book), her work has been featured by the BBC, Forbes, The Guardian, and more. Known for her engaging and fearless public speaking, Eleanor challenges “cookie-cutter” takes on AI with accessible, hopeful messages about technology’s future.

Her upcoming book, What If We Got AI Right?, explores how to move beyond apocalyptic AI narratives and build a more ethical tech future.

Please note that this event will be documented. Images and videos of the event could be used by Central Saint Martins for marketing and publicity in publications or online.
