Design Transforms is a lecture series from the Product, Ceramic and Industrial Design programme at Central Saint Martins, where expert practitioners are invited to share their thoughts on the idea of transformation examined through the lens of their work.
Róisín Inglesby is a curator, historian and writer who specialises in craft and design. She is particularly interested in how craft responds to personal, political and social needs, and the role that making things plays in our identities and society.
Following curatorial roles at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Tower of London, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, she has been Curator at the William Morris Gallery in East London since 2018.
Her recent exhibitions include Women in Print: 150 Years of Liberty Textiles (2025), Art Without Heroes: Mingei (2024), and Young Poland 1890–1918 (2021), the latter awarded the AAH Curatorial Prize. In 2024, Inglesby was named one of Apollo Magazine’s 40 Under 40 for her work at the intersection of art and craft. She is currently developing Factory Hands: Industrial Craft in Britain (2027), a touring exhibition exploring craft skills within industrial contexts.
