Design Transforms is a lecture series from the Product, Ceramic and Industrial Design programme at Central Saint Martins, where expert practitioners are invited to share their thoughts on the idea of transformation examined through the lens of their work.
Stephanie Rozene is a Professor of Art and Coordinator of the Ceramics Programme at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Her research looks at how historical ornament and porcelain can be used as a visual language to critique contemporary political rhetoric, and she also explores how clay has been used throughout history as a tool for cooking. She’s currently working with British historian Paul Greenhalgh on a book about the relationship between pottery and food, and together they co-host a new podcast on the history of ceramics.
