Design Transforms is a lecture series from the Product, Ceramic and Industrial Design programme at Central Saint Martins, where expert practitioners are invited to share their thoughts on the idea of transformation examined through the lens of their work.
Tord Boontje works as a designer in products, furniture, lighting design, and public environments. His work is known to bring warmth, light, colour and beauty into everyday objects and spaces.
He is interested in sensorial experiences that demonstrate how design can be emotionally resonant, in the belief that modernism does not mean minimalism, that contemporary does not forsake tradition, and that technology does not abandon people and senses.
Please note that this event will be documented. Images and videos of the event could be used by Central Saint Martins for marketing and publicity in publications or online.
